Ball Valves

Ball valves are the standard shut-off valve on a lot of water, air, gas and process pipework. Selection usually comes down to connection, material, bore and approval.

Key points
  • Screwed BSPP and BSPT covers a lot of day-to-day install and replacement work.
  • Flanged PN16 and ANSI options suit plantroom and heavier line duty.
  • Full bore matters when you want proper flow through the line.
  • Brass, stainless and PVC each sit in their own lane on site.
  • WRAS and gas approval need checking before anything goes near the job.

Overview
This range covers general-purpose ball valves for isolation duties across commercial, industrial and building services work. Sorted by size, end connection, pressure rating and material, with standard shut-off and 3 way patterns available.

Applications
Used on water services, compressed air lines, plant pipework, heating circuits, washdown lines and approved gas duties where the spec calls for it. They also suit maintenance replacement work where matching the existing connection and pressure class matters more than anything else.

Materials / Types
Brass suits a lot of building services work. Stainless steel is the better fit where corrosion, temperature, or process media rules out brass. PVC is the obvious choice for lighter-duty chemical and water lines. 2-piece, 3-piece and 3-way patterns are standard, with full-bore and reduced-bore depending on the line.

Selection Notes
Check BSPP or BSPT on screwed valves before ordering. On flanged lines, match PN16 or ANSI class properly. If you need diverting or mixing duty, choose the right 3-way pattern and port arrangement.
