Butterfly Valves

Butterfly valves give you a compact shut-off valve for larger bore pipework without the bulk of heavier patterns. They are a regular choice on water, HVAC and general plant systems where space, flange setup and seat material matter.

Key points
  • Wafer and lugged are different mounting patterns, not interchangeable shortcuts.
  • PN10/16, ANSI and Table D/E need matching to the line.
  • EPDM, NBR and PTFE liners each suit different duties.
  • Ductile iron covers a lot of standard plantroom work.
  • Double offset belongs on the harder jobs, not the default ones.

Overview
This range covers general industrial butterfly valves with buying options built around size, mounting pattern, flange accommodation, body material, seat liner and design.

Applications
Common on chilled water, heating water, boosted services, general water treatment lines and process systems where a quarter-turn valve makes sense. They work well on larger line sizes where install space gets tight and a compact body helps.

Materials / Types
Ductile iron is the usual starting point for standard water and HVAC work. Stainless steel is used where corrosion or media compatibility drives the choice. Resilient seated concentric valves handle most everyday duties. Double offset or high-performance patterns are there for tougher temperature, pressure or chemical service.

Selection Notes
Sort mounting pattern first: wafer, lugged, lugged and tapped or double flanged. Then match the flange rating properly. After that, pick the seat liner around the media and service conditions, especially if WRAS approval is part of the job.
